I have found a lost dog – possibly a schnauzer/shitzu mix – that I have seen walking with a Korean woman every morning on South Kingsley Drive. Looking for its owner.

Jennifer,

I’m glad that you’re interested in joining the board! We have a few seats remaining. I know that we have vacant seats for residential sub-districts 1 and 5 (check our map to see if you live in one of those districts). I’m not sure if any other seats might be available. There may be some alternative options to get you on the board. What is the source of your interest in the group? I look forward to meeting you at the next meeting, but if you would like to chat about the council you can email me at gary.ray.benjamin@gmail.com.

By the way, appointments are very simple. Someone on the board moves to nominate someone to fill a vacant seat, another seconds, the full board votes on whether to appoint or not. We will likely appoint you if the available seats line up with your neighborhood stakeholder status.

I’m glad that you’re interested in joining! If you would like to present issues to the council, you just need to show up at the general board meeting (Monday, February 11 at 6:30 PM) and speak during the public comment period. If you would like an issue added to an agenda (so that the council can vote and take action on a matter), you should either attend an Executive Committee meeting (they set the agenda) and propose your item, or email the board. I am writing from the South Robertson Neighborhoods Council to invite a Wilshire Center-Korea Town board member or stakeholder to meetings which will be held several times a year to discuss and learn about important environmental issues facing the City of Los Angeles. From Stormwater Parcel Tax Proposals to DWP Carbon Reduction goals, we will be inviting experts from the city and the scientific community to present all aspects and sides of these issues so that we can, in turn, inform our constituents. These meetings will be put on by “The Green Machine”, a group of volunteers from NC’s and co-hosted by TreePeople.
If you know of anyone in your membership or community who would be interested in attending, please send me their contact information and I will email them as programs are put together.
